First phase of The Laurels launches in Milton

The first phase of The Laurels in Milton, Ontario, is underway. The seven-building multi-residential project is among a trio of developments that Mattamy Homes is launching this fall across the Greater Toronto Area.

Future residents of the 14-storey tower can expect geothermal heating and cooling, 5,000-square feet of retail space for a “Main Street feel,” a yoga studio, gym and party room.

The LaurelsThe builders are also touting “efficiency and affordability.” Out of the 216 units, sixty per cent will be one-bedroom with dens, with prices starting in the $500,000’s. The condo is expected to begin occupancy in fall 2027, with full build-out by 2029.

Once the whole community is complete, it will bring 1,768 residential units to the area, at Britannia Road and Regional Road 25, and offer up to two-bedroom plus den suites.

For this first phase, CORE architects designed it as a central node, with retail frontage and a promenade that blends into the adjacent Natural Heritage System.

Brian Laye, partner at CORE Architects, says the design is meant to reflect the “natural beauty of Milton. “The promenade along the NHS will provide a peaceful, beautiful space for residents to enjoy, making it a focal point of the entire community,” he said. Plans for all buildings entail brick bases to create a sense of warmth.

Other fall project launches by Mattamy include ClockWork at Upper Joshua Creek phase four in Oakville and The Clove in Etobicoke. “With The Laurels, we are excited to continue delivering housing that is not only attainable but also sustainable, well-designed and connected to the natural beauty of the area,” said Niall Haggart, president of Mattamy’s GTA Urban Division.
