ENR Texas & Louisiana Announces 2025 ‘Project of the Year’ Nominees

Earlier this month, ENR Texas & Louisiana—the sub-region of ENR’s Texas & Southeast super region—announced the 37 winning entries from our 2025 Regional Best Projects contest. Now, we are pleased to announced the three projects nominated to vie for ENR Texas & Louisiana Project of the Year honors.

  • Cook Children’s Medical Center, Dodson Specialty Clinics Expansion, Fort Worth, Texas.

  • IAH Mickey Leland International Terminal D (MLIT), Houston. Submitted by Austin Commercial

The recipient of this year’s Project of the Year award will be announced at ENR Texas & Louisiana’s annual Best Projects Awards event, to be held Oct. 16 in Houston.

We’ll also be honoring 2025’s Firms of the Year recognized from throughout the year: Owner of the Year: Sempra Infrastructure; Design Firm of the Year: Volkert; and Contractor of the Year: Performance Contractors.

This year’s Texas & Louisiana Legacy Award honoree, Kurt Evans, formerly CEO of Digital Engineering & Imaging, will also be recognized at the Houston event. Finally, we’ll also be recognizing the 2025 Specialty Contractor of the Year, which will be announced soon.

 

Scott Judy is ENR’s Managing Editor. His roughly 34 years as a construction journalist began with an 11-year stint visiting and writing about construction projects in the Midwest region of Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska. Then, in 2000, Judy helped launch ENR Southeast, now known as ENR Texas & Southeast. After all these years, Judy says his favorite part of being an ENR editor is visiting job sites and learning how—and reporting on—a team’s approach to overcoming the project’s design and construction challenges. And Judy says he never turns down an invitation for a project visit.
