AI Adoption on the Rise Among Leaders
In the three years since artificial intelligence (AI) has become mainstream, more employees have used it in the fourth quarter of 2025 than in previous months, according to a study done by Gallup. Daily use of the technology has increased to 12 percent, with some respondents saying they use AI at work several times a week. Still, 49 percent of U.S. workers report that they have “never” used AI while on the job.
According to the report, 38 percent of employees said that their company implemented AI to improve productivity, efficiency and quality in Q4. However, the use of the technology varies based on industries. The technology, finance and higher education sectors report the highest levels of AI usage, compared to employees in retail, manufacturing and healthcare.
Harvard Medical School reports AI users in healthcare have cited benefits including:
- Freeing up tasks to allow physicians to focus more on the patient
- Better interpret imaging results
- Improve quality and safety
- Aid in diagnosis and treatment of rare diseases
- Offers data and expertise
Meanwhile, healthcare facility managers are using the technology to aid in the ongoing labor shortage, JLL reports. Managers are leveraging AI to augment human capabilities and productivity, allowing team members to focus on more important tasks.
According to the Gallup report, employees in leadership positions report more frequent AI usage than other employees, rising to 44 percent. It is expected that leadership usage is more frequent due to office-based and remote-capable roles.
