New Ontario grant targets accessibility projects

The Ontario government launched the Enhancing Access to Spaces for Everyone (EASE) Grant, which awards up to $60,000 for projects that improve accessibility and help older adults and people with disabilities participate in community life.

The overall funding amounts to $2.2 million. Municipalities, non-profit organizations and Indigenous governing bodies can apply for capital projects and retrofits. Examples include installing charging stations for mobility devices, installing mobility mats at beaches and building accessible washrooms at parks.

To protect seniors, the Ontario government is investing in a historic number of community programs and active living centres. This includes an additional $1 million designated for programs dedicated to improving the quality of life for senior veterans and expanding Seniors Active Living Centres to more than 400 sites to increase access to services that connect seniors to activities and programs close to home.

Eligible organizations have until August 14, 2025, to submit their applications at: Ontario.ca/GetFunding
