IFMA Celebrates Facilities Management Leaders at 2024 World Workplace Conference

Oct 14, 2024 | Public | 0 comments

On Oct. 9-11, industry professionals from across the globe converged on San Antonio, Texas, for the International Facility Management Association’s (IFMA) World Workplace Conference and Expo. The event offered educational sessions, networking opportunities, and more.

IFMA honored many industry leaders throughout the conference. In addition to inducting the 2024 Class of IFMA Fellows, the organization announced the recipients of the 2024 Awards of Excellence, which recognized winners in 18 award categories representing exceptional contributions to the association, outstanding examples of facility management initiative, and innovative FM projects, practices, and solutions.

According to IFMA, this year’s Excellence awards program received the highest number of nominations in its 39-year history. Each nominee was scored individually across a variety of category-specific criteria by judging panels comprised of industry experts.

“Our awards program is the embodiment of who we are and what we value. It celebrates teamwork, individual accomplishment, and dedicated volunteer service,” said awards ceremony host Thomas L. Mitchell, Jr., CFM, IFMA Fellow and past chair (2009-10) of IFMA’s board. “These awards give every type of member from every corner of the world the chance to be applauded for their contributions.”

Current Chair (2024-25) of IFMA’s Global Board of Directors Lynn Baez, FMP, SFP, IFMA Fellow, congratulated each winner on stage. “Honoring achievement is extremely important to IFMA. Striving for excellence and growth through innovation, leadership, and knowledge-sharing is one of our values as an organization. We know that everything IFMA accomplishes is directly attributed to the efforts and innovations of those in our professional community,” said Baez.

Awards were presented to individuals, teams, and IFMA Networking Groups (chapters, councils, and communities) from around the world. Recipients of the IFMA Foundation’s Board of Trustees Awards and the winning IgniteFM! student team were also announced.
